Manuscript evaluation

Revista de Educación en Ciencias de la Salud

All manuscripts received by RECS Journal undergo a review by the publisher that includes:

  • Thematic relevance

  • Originality of the manuscript as stated in the cover letter

  • Compliance with the requirements of the manuscript

  • Declaration of authorship responsibility

  • Declaration of conflict of interest by all authors

After the editorial review, the manuscript undergoes a critical evaluation process. This review is anonymous, implying that both authors and peer reviewers are anonymous for the review process, corresponding to the “double-blind peer review” system. The reviewers are external to the journal and the editorial board.

For the publication of the manuscript, the favorable acceptance of 2 peer reviewers is required. In case of disagreement, the editorial committee decides the course of action to follow.

Once the review process is completed, the editorial committee defines the decision to publish the manuscript, which may be one of the following alternatives:

  • Rejection of the manuscript

  • Acceptance of the manuscript, with modifications. In this case, the corresponding author will be asked to make the recommended modifications

  • Acceptance of the manuscript without modifications

The editor will communicate this last decision to the corresponding author in writing.
